# Delete scans or your account

> Remove a single scan, clear your whole history or close your account, and how long each one takes.

Your documents are yours. You can delete them at any time, and we never use them to train detection models.

## Delete a single scan

Open the scan and select **Delete**, or select several scans in your history and delete them together. They're removed from our servers within 24 hours, and any shared links stop working straight away.

## Delete all scans

Open **Settings** and, under **Danger zone**, select **Delete scans**. This removes every document and report in your workspace. Credits already used are not refunded.

## Delete your account

1. Cancel any paid plan first, so you aren't charged again.
2. Open **Settings** and select **Delete account** under **Danger zone**.
3. Confirm the deletion. We'll email you when it's done.

We erase your personal data within 30 days. Billing records are kept for as long as tax law requires, without your documents. Our [privacy policy](https://winstonai.ai/privacy#retention) lists every retention period.

> **Tip:** On a Team plan, scans you run in the shared workspace belong to the workspace. Ask an admin before you leave if you want them removed.
